We are looking for a helpdesk specialist to support our client. The position is based in Munich and start date is ASAP. Please be aware that the successful candidate has to speak German and English.

About the Job
As a Help Desk Specialist, you will be responsible for providing world-class customer support to the internal employees. You will be the primary resource for our Reston, VA facility responsible for local support as well as global support. You will help deploy business-critical workstations and assist in the deployment and management of Linux and Windows operating systems. You will analyze, research, and resolve complex technical issues, with a strong focus on Linux and Windows operating systems and related hardware, and will create/update technical and procedural documentation; provide leadership by example; and will represent the Help Desk on a variety of cross-functional teams. You will also assist in providing technical guidance and leadership to the support staff on projects and issues. Lastly, this individual will work closely with Systems Administration team members for escalations, deep problem resolution, and as a liaison to customers groups, as needed.

Responsibilities
* Help ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through ownership, resolution and appropriate escalation of issues and trouble tickets; Maintain proactive and timely communication with customers via multiple mediums (voice, tickets, email, IM, walk-ups)
* Manage small projects and provide technical leadership to junior Help Desk technicians.
* Act as strong technical resource and senior escalation point for numerous technologies, including Linux desktop issues.
* Develop tools to improve helpdesk efficiency and productivity.
* Develop and document processes and procedures for improving efficiencies and decreasing response times.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a global connected team.

Basic Qualifications
The qualified candidate will have extensive experience as a customer advocate and technical lead as part of a global Help Desk staff. In additional to possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills, the candidate must be passionate about technology; a well-organized self-starter; able to deliver on time; and able to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

* 3+ years experience maintaining Linux operating systems, hardware and packages.
* 3+ years experience in a customer-driven, results-focused Help Desk environment.
* 3+ years troubleshooting, upgrading, and repairing desktops, laptops, and associated hardware.
* 2+ years experience administering Windows client operating systems and packages.
